School year 2020-21? It’s complicated, for sure. Remote learning. Live and “as usual” in the classroom. Instruction in tents. We may get a taste of all of the above before even the first trimester is over!
All the same, the kids are starting a new grade, and it’s time for some shopping. Teens don’t want us overly involved, and most families we know to start off with one sure-fire item in a box with a little cash or a gift card…and then the teens themselves take over. That’s only appropriate: they are the ones best equipped to decode the sartorial mode in operation at their school.
And then there’s the fact that they are likely to “unlike” whatever we buy without them. Or with them. So our advice is to get the ball rolling with one of these items and let the kids take it from there.
