Fizz and Flannel: Two cold weather cocktails

Beat the chill with two winter cocktails from the folks at Wigle Whiskey and Threadbare Farmhouse Cider.

Favorite Flannel

1 oz Wigle Small Cask Wheat Whiskey

1 oz Smoky tea simple syrup (recipe below)

1 oz Lemon juice

1 dash Mole bitters

Threadbare Farmhouse Cider

To make simple syrup, combine 1 cup boiling water, 1 T Russian Caravan tea, and 1 cup turbinado sugar. Let cool.

Combine all ingredients and top off with Threadbare Farmhouse Cider.

Chapman’s Fizz

1 oz Sweet Lou’s Brosé from Pittsburgh Winery

1 oz Wigle Pressed Pommeau

.75 oz Lemon juice

.5 oz Orange zest simple syrup (recipe below)

1 dash Wigle Pomander Orange Bitters

To make simple syrup, steep 1 T orange peel in 1 cup boiling water for 10 min. Add sugar, dissolve and strain. Let cool.

Combine all ingredients and serve.
