Raising the Bar: Happy hour at home
Rhonda Schuldt’s “Big dips, Big flavors” article inspired a look at setting up a bar at home. The designers at HOUSE 15143 made some great suggestions: break out the brass cups, insert a woodsy, rustic serving tray, and add a clutch of austere branches for sculptural appeal. We also talked to Social’s Christopher Kuhn for recs on what to mix when the snow starts to fall, and he had some delicious ideas: a whipped cream White Russian, a sparkly Prosecco Cosmo, and a warming Old Fashioned. Here’s to happy hour at home!
White Russian
vanilla vodka/Kahlua/whipped cream and garnished with a dusting of ground nutmeg
Prosecco Cosmo
pomegranate vodka/lime juice/house-made pomegranate grenadine/prosecco and garnished with a couple pomegranate seeds
Old Fashioned
rye whiskey/Demerara syrup/orange bitters and garnished with an orange wedge and a maraschino cherry
